Higuain: “Benzema and I have a healthy competition”

The Real Madrid striker, Argentine Gonzalo Higuain rejected any differences with France’s Karim Benzema, a rival in the center forward position, saying that competition is maintained “healthy and normal.”

“Benzema and I are partners. There is nothing. It’s a healthy competition. Normal,” said Real Madrid’s Argentine striker, who returned to the pitch after a month out through injury.

“I really wanted to play again. I’m happy because I have not felt anything in the leg and also for having a goal in my back,” said Higuain, who signed the third goal against Espanyol.

The Argentine admitted that the match against Espanyol “was comfortable, we have to maintain this line. Barcelona lose points and we must use”, and hoped that out next week against Atletico Madrid.

“Last year there punctured. The points left,” said Higuain, who questioned whether he was unbeatable Barcelona said: “So far they have not lost any match. But now he encounters are complex and see what happens.”

Higuain was happy the public reception of the Santiago Bernabeu. “It’s great to receive that love, that makes you feel so good and shows that you do things right,” he concluded.
